Teri Silver: Liner Notes

Moving Our Eldorado's Date - March 17, 2009

Just a quick note to say that, in order to accomodate a request by the club owner, ThankYouGoodNight has moved our Eldorado's date to Saturday, June 20th, so we will NOT be there on April 18th. We were offered the Saturday before, but Jeff and I will be out of town on April 11th. SO... be sure to put Saturday, June 20th down on your calendar!

New Players for TYGN - March 12, 2009

ThankYouGoodNight welcomes Chris Williams on lead guitar! We're very pleased to have him and are looking forward to hitting the stage. Also, TYGN will soon announce a new bass player, as the band undergoes some personnel changes. We wish Steve and Tom lots of luck in their musical futures!

A Couple of Late Spring Dates - March 4, 2009

TYGN is booked to play at the Old Bag of Nails in Delaware on Saturday, May 16th and Saturday, May 30th. We're hoping for a few more OBON dates for the summer but only time will tell!

Changes for TYGN - February 27, 2009

ThankYouGoodNight is now looking for a new lead guitarist. Steve has decided to pursue other avenues in his musical life, and we wish him well. For now, Steve's TYGN biography will remain intact until a replacement can be found...we are now starting the interview/audition process. In the meantime, it's business as usual and we are looking forward to our next performance.

Booking Our Spring Calendar - February 17, 2009

ThankYouGoodNight is currently seeking gigs for spring and summer. Thus far, we have a few irons in the fire in addition to a private event on the books, but I can tell you of one public show on the books that is coming up...

ThankYouGoodNight will be performing at Eldorado's Food & Spirits on North High Street in Columbus. Please see the calendar page for details. It's a nice place that I am very comfortable in; the folks who own it are very nice people who support local music. I am really hoping to get a good crowd for that show... It's a new venue for us and we really need to impress the owners with how well we draw. So.. yes, put us on your calendar! Eldorado's serves food items such as wings, burgers, subs, etc. in addition to being a full service cocktail bar.

Sad Day for Me - December 20, 2008

Today was my last day as a program host for WOSU on Saturdays. Now, there is the possibility that I would crop up there from time to time, depending on what they need and if I can accommodate the station, schedule-wise. I really appreciate the folks at the radio station for allowing me to be a part of the WOSU family for the last 3 1/2 years. Que sera, sera.

Radio Days Nearing an End... For Now. - December 10, 2008

The short answer: December 13th & December 20th will most likely be my last days as a weekend program host for WOSU 89.7 & WOSU 820. Perhaps another day could be thrown in next month, but for the most part... it's over. I've been with them 3 1/2 years.

Well, it's like this. A few months ago, the Brass at WOSU told me that they wanted to drop the weekend program hosts in favor of full day news for WOSU 820. This would be on both Saturdays and Sundays, with a few extra days during the week for a full time employee. Because of my news background and my experience in working at the station, WOSU's News and Program Directors DID ask me to APPLY for the job (submit an application among all the other apps, doesn't mean I'd get the job, only that I'd be considered for it.) I decided not to apply for it because of the commitment that would be involved. Now they've got someone in place and my days are numbered... (I was hoping, since it took them so long to do it, that they'd just "forget" about it, LOL).

I will still be affiliated with the station. If there's an opportunity for me to fill in during the week as a program host, I will try to accomodate that, if I can work that out with the library. So, I'm actively seeking another (consistent) radio job and I hope something will come up after the first of the year. This singing Radio Diva needs a place to warble!

Giving Love to Our Furry Friends. - November 15, 2008

A great night at the "Fur Ball" was had by all! I don't know what the final numbers are for the Humane Society of Delaware County, but I can say that their fundraising benefit held this past Saturday was a success. The director told me they had more than twice as many tickets sold than last year, and the auction items were selling like hotcakes! ThankYouGoodNight was and still is honored to be a part of it. If you'd like to know more about the Humane Society of Delaware County, visit www.hsdcohio.org. Please think about the many homeless animals that need a good friend... check out a shelter near you to find your furry soulmate!

Love Playing for the Kids! - November 9, 2008

I am talking about the students of Ohio Wesleyan, who come to Clancey's to dance and have fun. They seem to enjoy TYGN last night and had so many nice things to say to me. We had a great time and are hoping to be back there next year. Unfortunately, the economy being what it is, that may not be possible as the owner told me that he's not making money with the bands and that he's leaning more toward hiring DeeJays. He says it's more cost-effective and that people don't want to see live bands anymore. Well, maybe so and if that's true, it's a real shame. I'd hate to see live music fall by the wayside for several reasons (and not just at Clancey's but all the clubs;) Live music is live music and to lose it would mean losing a large part of the joy of life if there were no live performances of any kind, anywhere. That actually goes for all kinds of music in all kinds of venues. So, I urge us all to support live music (especially from your local bands) because if we don't, it will all go away. I know that's not what I want!!!

The Humane Society of Delaware County - October 25, 2008

Join TYGN at "Fur Ball 2008"... The Humane Society of Delaware County needs our help and the animals need our love! Information is on the calendar page... if you can't make the party, make a donation :)) ThankYouGoodNight will appear at the Fur Ball at 8:30 p.m. on November 15th, capping off an evening of food and fun!

Yeah, We're Rockin' - October 12, 2008

The heat is on, especially at 2:00 a.m. when the dance floor is tight, but no one's ready to go home! ThankYouGoodNight had a great time Saturday night, we will be on stage again on November 8th. We are looking for shows to book for our winter calendar, so check back to see what we come up with. Hey, it's great when those 20-something year olds hit on me and there were a few last night! Of course, they were probably drunk at the time but.... I still got it!

TYGN at the American Legion - August 23, 2008

TYGN performed at the American Legion hall in Newark, OH and it was a fun time for all. It's a nice place... a new venue for us... we hope to play there again. Nice folks, they sure seem to have a great time!

TYGN at the Ohio State Fair...It. Was. Great! - August 7, 2008

And that says it all. ThankYouGoodNight had a great gig at the Ohio State Fair ... we were treated like rock stars... we had special parking, our own trailer and a stage crew to help set up and tear down and of course, run sound. Now... that's always great because it's a lot of heavy, physical work to set up for a show, with all the equipment that bands need to use. So we really appreciate the crew and all their help. And... it was great.

Our first show was tight, we sounded good and our audience seemed to be enjoying themselves. The Stage Manager (Glen) told me that it was a bigger than normal crowd for that time of the day. I was a little worried about the second show because it can happen that, since there was almost 2 hours in between the two shows, things could get a little sluggish as the adrenaline levels fall. Not so. In fact, it was just as powerful or maybe even moreso, as Jeff thinks. People kept coming in, AND... we were asked to do two encores. Stage Manager Glen told me that it was the first time since he'd been working there that any band was asked for an encore...that is so cool!

At some point we had to end our show so the next act could go on... but we wanted to keep on playing... I think the audience wanted us to do that too! I've got some photos but it will take me a while to get these up, as I have to go through so many of them. I'd like to thank the Ohio State Fair for the opportunity to play there.. I love the fair and for me personally... it was just a really cool gig.

I'd also like to thank the other band members of ThankYouGoodNight: Steve Allwein (Lead Guitar & Vocals,) Mike Fridley (Drums,) Tom Hammond (Bass & Vocals,) Jeff Jordan (Rhythm Guitar & Vocals,) and special guest Harry Tabler (Keyboards & Vocals, and who I hope will be playing with us again.) Next up is a great show at the American Legion in Newark on August 23rd. It's a new venue for us and I'm really looking forward to it. OK, so it's really late now so... ThankYouGoodNight!

Come to the Fair! - July 29, 2008

ThankYouGoodNight will be at the Ohio State Fair on Thursday, August 7th at 5:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. on the Main Stage, next to but not in the Celeste Center. Oh, you already knew that, didja? We're really looking forward to it. Come see us, bring your digital cameras and be sure to send any pictures you take... we love them. We're bringing the full six piece band to this one... welcome Harry! Harry Tabler will add his keys, vocals and flashing baby blues to TYGN for this special performance and we're really pleased to have him!

TYGN Dates Cancelled - July 12, 2008

We had a miscommunication. The Old Bag of Nails in Delaware booked other bands for Saturdays July 12 and 26. We found out tonight (halfway through setting up our gear). ThankYouGoodNight will not play on those dates. Sorry for the confusion. We apologize if you made the trip to see us. If you did, we hope you stuck around to enjoy the restaurant and see the band that did play--Rusty Strings. We always urge folks to get out and support local music by seeing what's out there... we depend on you. For those of you who had planned to see ThankYouGoodNight tonight or on the 26th, well... there is our state fair show coming up on Thursday August 7. (5 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. on the Main Stage.) We have a written contract for that one, lol. TYGN is looking for fall dates, we'll let you know when we add to our calendar.

Good Show, Good Show. - May 18, 2008

Yes, TYGN did get to play last night... the rain came and went just in time for us to set up and get crankin'. It turned out to be beautiful evening and we all had a great time. If you have any worries about whether the weather will stop us, please call ahead to the restaurant/bar and see what they know (you may want to talk to a manager, who tends to know more of anything.) If I know in advance that a show has to be cancelled/postponed due to inclement weather, I will certainly post it on the home page of terisilver.com and the band's Myspace page, and probably send out an email. But when it's hit or miss, it's hit or miss and I may not find out until just before showtime. Thanks to everyone who came out last night... come see us again!

Come and see TYGN this weekend! - May 16, 2008

Yes, it may be a bit cold... bring a jacket... and it could even sprinkle a bit but ThankYouGoodNight featuring Teri and Jeff is slated to be on the patio of the Old Bag of Nails on Sandusky Street in Delaware, OH on Saturday, May 17 beginning at 7:00 p.m. Whether it rains depends on who you ask and when you ask it. Right now.. we're looking at a "slight chance of rain." Will that change? This is central Ohio, it's always possible. So... bring an umbrella and let's just have a good time! Good food, too.

Acoustic Therapy - April 1, 2008

That is the name of the music project that Jeff, Teri and Steve have going... two acoustic guitars, three voices and Teri's soft percussion. Hoping to get a few dates on our calendar. We've cut a demo of four songs; they are on the bottom of the the music page of terisilver.com, just look for the titles with Acoustic Therapy in the header.

Summer Dates - February 29, 2008

ThankYouGoodNight has added 6 dates for the summer... all at a nice restaurant in Delaware called the Old Bag of Nails. We'll be out on the patio so let's hope it doesn't rain on at least these six dates! (May 17, 31, June 14, 28, July 12 and 26.) Bring the whole family, eat, drink, dance and have fun! Check the calendar for any changes.

The House is a Rockin' - February 16, 2008

TYGN played at Clancey's last night and we definitely rocked the house, or so we were told by many of the folks there. The dance floor was jammed pack and we all had a great time. I was hoping to get an April date, but it doesn't look like that's going to happen unless a previously committed group should cancel. TYGN is looking to book some spring and summer dates at various venues. We have a few irons in the fire but nothing I wish to put up on the calendar at this moment. If you or anyone you know has an event coming up and want(s) to showcase a band with a varied song list and the ability to always add more... let me know.

The Ohio State Fair - January 15, 2008

Well, I've been sitting on this for awhile, now, waiting until I had the contract signed and sealed. ThankYouGoodNight will play on the Main Stage at the Ohio State Fair on Thursday, August 7th. We'll have two shows; one beginning at 5:00 p.m. and lasting until about 5:45 and the other beginning at 7:30 and lasting until 8:15 p.m. (or whenever we get off the stage!) Please don't ask me for free tickets... I can't get any. In fact, they tell me that I'll have just enough to get my band in! But I really hope to see a lot of my friends there so now is the time to plan your summer around the state fair, which runs from July 30th through August 10th. Remember, TYGN hits the stage on Thursday, August 7th! And yes, it's so cool. They only have a couple of bands from the Columbus area each year and it is very flattering that they asked me. And when they did, well you know I am over the moon because I really do have a long-time LUV AFFAIR going on with the state fair!

A New Year! - January 1, 2008

ThankYouGoodNight has added two new players as we head into the new year. Mike Fridley, or "Little Ringo" as he's known in some circles, is our new drummer. Yowza! TYGN welcomes Tom Hammond and his bass-playing talents to the fold. Tom and I actually met a couple of years ago at a jam session and were recently reunited by a mutual friend. Ain't the internet grand! We look forward to a solid year in 2008. ThankYouGoodNight.

And Again... - December 2, 2007

Another great time last night, as we rocked the house in dowtown Delaware.

Yeah, OK, Mea Culpa... Championship game here we come! The Buckeyes, I mean. Who'da thunk it? GO BUCKS!

Great Time! - November 18, 2007

We had a great time last night. Go Bucks! OK, so, it's not likely they'll be headed for a national championship but the ROSE BOWL is nothing to sneeze at! For all of you who missed ThankYouGoodNight last night because of a little too much early-day celebrating, we'll be on stage on Saturday, December 1st beginning at 9:30 p.m. at Clancey's Pub, 40 S. Sandusky street in downtown Delaware (OH.) Hope to see you there!

Ready to Rock? - November 14, 2007

Don't forget to join us on Saturday, November 17th and Saturday, December 1st at Clancey's Pub, 40 South Sandusky Street, in Delaware, Ohio. We'll hit the stage around 9:30 p.m.
